Job summary
Javelin Global Commodities in London, England is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our technology team. Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 2 years embedded with users delivering production applications in financial services, commodities or comparable enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code and collaborate with traders/analysts.
- Experience with Python 3 and modern software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy software that supports commodities trading, risk management and market-data processing, working closely with traders and operators to turn business needs into effective solutions.
- Write clean, scalable and maintainable code, primarily in Python 3.
- Partner with traders and quantitative analysts to understand strategies, identify opportunities and translate requirements into robust software.
- Enhance reliability, performance and usability of applications across trading and operational workflows.
- Own well-defined development tasks from concept to delivery, communicating progress clearly and producing dependable solutions on time.
- Contribute ideas through technical design discussions and code reviews, and help strengthen testing and software-development practices.
