Job summary

J.P. Morgan in London seeks an Athena/Python Front Office Software Engineer to join the Commodities Tech team within Commercial & Investment Bank. You will design, build and deliver high-performance trading applications in a fast-paced, agile environment.

You will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers and other technology teams to deploy secure, scalable solutions that drive business impact and resilience while keeping pace with industry trends.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or equivalent.
Hands-on experience delivering design, development, testing and operations.
Experience in large-scale, performant systems in Python/Java.
Strong grasp of Agile CI/CD, resiliency and security.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced finance environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with trading, research and sales to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Design, develop and maintain front-office trading applications.
Troubleshoot production issues in time-sensitive settings.
Improve code quality, performance and resilience through secure production code.
Work with global teams in an agile manner.
Contribute to communities of practice and emerging tech exploration.
