Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London seeks an Athena/Python Front Office Software Engineer to join an agile Commodities Tech team. You will help enhance, build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products for the front office in a secure, scalable environment.

You will work with Precious Metals and Agriculture trading, quantitative research, sales, and middle office to implement end-to-end solutions, applying deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with relevant experience.
• Degree in CS, IS, Math, or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience delivering design, development, testing and stability of systems.
• Experience in large-scale, performant, OO or functional language development (Python, Java).
• Solid knowledge of agile practices including CI/CD, resiliency and security.
• Familiarity with cloud, end-to-end development and quantitative finance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with trading, research, sales and tech teams to gather requirements and deliver reliable, impactful solutions.
• Designs, develops and maintains front-office trading applications and systems.
• Troubleshoots production issues efficiently in time-sensitive environments.
• Continuously improves code quality, performance and resilience with secure production code and reviews.
• Collaborates with global technology teams in an agile manner.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events.
