Job summary

Arden University is seeking an experienced Associate Lecturer to support delivery across blended and distance learning environments at our London campuses. The role is offered on a flexible, as-needed basis with semester or task-based allocations.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification, have a degree in a relevant field, and demonstrate UK higher education teaching experience, including DL delivery, with ongoing professional engagement in the industry.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience teaching and assessing students within the UK higher education sector.
• Experience delivering student-centred teaching and, for DL roles, experience of teaching through distance learning.
• Up-to-date industry experience.
• Fellowship of Advance HE (or willingness to work towards it with Arden’s support).
• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and Learning (BL): Delivering classroom-based sessions, engaging students via online platforms, providing feedback, and enhancing the student learning experience.
• Teaching and Learning (DL): Leading interactive online sessions via Zoom, engaging students through discussion forums, and providing prompt support and feedback.
• Marking & Assessment: Participating in standardisation exercises, undertaking formative and summative marking, and adhering to strict deadlines.
• Supervision: Providing high-quality supervision and guidance for student projects and dissertations.
• Authoring Content: Developing or revising engaging lecture and learning content, ensuring copyright compliance.
• Other Duties: Participating in meetings, peer reviews, and staff development activities to maintain teaching quality.
