Job description

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Read our culture memo to learn more about how we work.

The Finance & Strategy function plays a pivotal role in developing Netflix’s strategy and supporting its execution. We are seeking an Associate for our EMEA Studio Strategy team based in London. The Netflix Studio is the largest in the world, overseeing the production of Netflix original series and films. Studio Strategy is a high-impact group within the wider Studio Finance organisation that works on strategic initiatives that cut across functions and markets. We partner with EMEA leaders across all areas of Production (production management, innovation, talent development, facilities), as well as wider Finance, Content and Legal teams. We provide strategic guidance on essential business decisions about how our content gets made, and ensure the Studio has the resources and operating models to deliver its long-term objectives. We also provide strategic support to the Labour Relations team (responsible for agreements with talent guilds and unions in the region), and oversee compliance with Netflix’s royalties and residuals obligations in EMEA.

The Associate position will be an integral member of the strategy team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Studio F&S and working alongside one other F&S Manager. You will be responsible for providing support and analysis across the breadth of work provided by the team. This role will be based in Netflix's London office but will collaborate with teams across the EMEA region, as well as global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop analytical frameworks and carry out quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights for Studio leaders
  • Build a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive threats and opportunities and share market intelligence internally
  • Evaluate key business drivers and trends, support metric and dashboard development and provide reporting on operational performance
  • Regularly create and deliver insightful presentations that summarise analyses in an easy-to-understand format for stakeholders
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at streamlining operations and workflows across the Studio and production lifecycles
  • Undertake special projects/ad hoc analysis for Studio leadership and other senior business leaders as needed
  • Build strong relationships with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders, including teams across Production, Production Finance, Content, Labour, Data Science, Legal, Policy and Risk
  • Project manage studio strategy initiatives and provide tactical support, such as facilitating workshops and supporting working groups
Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a highly analytical thinker and a strong communicator who thrives in a fast paced environment. You should possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.

You should have:
  • 6 years of relevant experience, ideally in a top management consulting firm and/or media/entertainment/tech company in a strategy/business development/analytical role
  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving, and experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights using data
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex analysis to executives/senior management clearly and concisely
  • The ability to swiftly produce written memos and presentations of exceptional rigour and clarity
  • A self-motivated, disciplined and flexible approach, able to work independently in a changing environment
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders from a range of professional backgrounds and levels of seniority
  • A commitment to embrace and advocate for inclusion, including demonstrated cross-cultural understanding and intelligence
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience or understanding of media and content production is a plus, but not essential
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Excel / PowerPoint and/or Google Sheets / Slides
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
