Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an experienced Associate Ecologist in the UK to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and influence best practices across the ecology team.

The role offers exposure to diverse UK habitats, protected species work, and the chance to shape project delivery from early planning through completion. You will work with specialists across habitats, protected species, biodiversity, water and planning, driving technically robust ecological outputs while supporting business growth and

Qualifications

• Experience across UK habitats and protected species with survey licences.
• Proven ability to design pragmatic, cost-effective mitigation and gain regulatory support; on-site supervision.
• Experience delivering Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA).
• Track record of winning work with commercial clients in residential, mixed-use and industrial sectors.
• Demonstrated mentorship and leadership, developing ecologists across grades.

Responsibilities

• Champion health, safety and wellbeing within the team.
• Collaborate with Regional Director and Team Leader to manage workload and uphold standards.
• Lead delivery of ecological workstreams, including technical, commercial and financial aspects.
• Provide site and office mentoring to junior colleagues developing their skills.
• Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
