Job summary

AECOM seeks an Associate Director to lead transport development planning in the UK&I, focusing on Northwest growth. You will guide strategic initiatives, manage client relations, and deliver complex transport planning projects across multiple sectors while expanding the team and capabilities.

The role requires a track record of leadership, collaboration, and excellence in transport planning, with a strong client network and a proactive approach to business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Membership in professional bodies such as CIHT or TPS.
• 12+ years of experience in transport planning with a proven track record in leading teams and winning work.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of UK&I transport planning principles, policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of strategic initiatives to grow transport planning and consulting practice.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to deliver innovative, sustainable transport solutions.
• Oversee project delivery, manage risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive business development and bid preparation to secure multidisciplinary projects.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing transport planning team.
