Job summary

Grant Thornton Private South & London Advisory Tax is seeking an Associate Director to advise mid-market businesses and their shareholders on significant transactions. This is an advisory-only role with no compliance.

You will lead on tax structuring of acquisitions, disposals, buyouts, IPOs and carve-outs, building trust with clients, guiding junior colleagues, and coordinating across GT teams to deliver practical, commercial tax solutions.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience advising clients on complex tax matters, including transactions.
• Interest in developing yourself and fellow team members.
• Willingness to take on leadership and business development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert tax advice to mid-market businesses and their shareholders.
• Advise on the tax implications and structuring of acquisitions, disposals, and business separations.
• Lead client meetings, deliver high-quality tax work, and be the day-to-day client contact.
• Develop junior team members and support their career aspirations.
• Collaborate with the Private and wider Tax teams to ensure optimal skill utilisation.
