Job summary

Fitch Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer - Associate Director in London to lead a high‑performing software engineering team.

You will define and drive the technical strategy for cloud‑native platforms, back‑end services and data products, delivering scalable, secure solutions aligned with business goals. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and advance DevSecOps practices while collaborating with product leaders to achieve impactful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering with 3–5 years leading technical teams.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale platforms, APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Java and/or Python; able to guide architecture and implementation.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on with cloud-native architectures and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing software engineering team.
• Define and execute technical strategy for cloud-native platforms and data products.
• Provide hands-on leadership for backend services, APIs and distributed systems.
• Set architecture standards and champion scalability, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners to align technical investments with business goals.
• Ensure quality delivery with automated testing, reviews, and observability.
• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation to accelerate delivery.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to drive innovation and productivity.
• Lead resolution of complex technical challenges and improve platform resilience.
