Job summary

Waystone seeks an Associate Director to support its Investment Risk function in the City of London. The role provides oversight of real asset investment strategies, including property, infrastructure, private debt and private equity, with emphasis on risk, liquidity, valuation and governance.

You will challenge delegated managers, monitor risk indicators, assist with regulatory compliance and contribute to policy development.

Qualifications

• Seven years’ experience in investment risk, fund oversight, valuation or related financial services role.
• Strong understanding of real asset investments (property, infra, private debt/equity).
• Knowledge of UK and European fund regulation (AIFMD, FCA).
• Experience overseeing real asset strategies within asset managers, allocators or advisory environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and challenge to delegated investment managers on strategy, liquidity, leverage, valuation and risk management.
• Review and monitor key risk indicators across real asset portfolios.
• Assess liquidity risk and conduct liquidity stress testing frameworks.
• Review valuation methodologies and governance processes; document rationale for fair value decisions.
• Monitor regulatory compliance with investment guidelines and governance channels.
• Prepare and present risk, valuation and compliance reporting to governance committees and clients.
• Lead due diligence reviews of delegated managers and onboarding processes.
• Support launch of new products and fund changes by assessing risk, liquidity, leverage and operations.
