Job summary

Mace is seeking a seasoned PMO/Project Controls leader to guide governance, cost, schedule, risk and reporting on critical UK infrastructure commissions in collaboration with client teams and our internal delivery ecosystem.

You will build high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement, champion safety and quality, and nurture stakeholder relationships while delivering outstanding outcomes for complex programmes across a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in delivering infrastructure projects/programmes.
  • Leadership of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience client-side and consultancy experience.

  • Managing PMO and Project Controls delivery with governance and performance management.

You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Managing PMO and Project Controls delivery, ensuring strong governance, performance management and successful outcomes across assigned commissions.
  • Developing and implementing robust controls frameworks, managing cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting.
  • Builds trusted client relationships, providing strategic advice and subject matter expertise.
  • Developing high-performing teams, champions best practice, supports net zero goals and drives continuous improvement.
  • Championing a culture of safety, quality, sustainability and inclusion, ensuring compliance and wellbeing remain at the heart of delivery.
  • Directing strategic PMO and Project Controls delivery, providing expert guidance and driving successful client outcomes.
  • Shaping business strategy strengthens stakeholder relationships and promotes best-in-class service excellence.
  • Developing high-performing teams through mentoring, talent development, innovation and knowledge sharing.
You’ll Need To Have
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the infrastructure sector.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of working client-side as well as within a consultancy.
