Job summary

Taylor Root is seeking an Associate Director, Professional Indemnity on a 12-month maternity cover contract, based in London or Manchester. You will manage complex professional indemnity matters and advise senior management on contentious risk across the UK and EMEA.

Reporting to the Office of General Counsel, you will develop policies, oversee insurers and external counsel, supervise junior lawyers, and translate trends into practical risk-management initiatives for the firm.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing contentious risk issues within an international law firm.
• Experience providing legal and strategic advice to senior lawyers and business leaders.
• Strong technical knowledge of professional indemnity, claims management and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Indemnity Insurance Rules.
• The ability to manage sensitive and complex issues with discretion, pragmatism and sound commercial judgement.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects or contributing to strategic and cultural change.
• Previous insurance experience would be advantageous.

We are working with a leading international law firm looking to appoint an Associate Director, Professional Indemnity on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

Sitting within the Office of General Counsel, this is a senior and highly visible position responsible for managing contentious professional indemnity and wider professional risk matters across the UK and EMEA. You’ll advise senior management, Partners and fee earners while helping the firm identify claims trends and strengthen its approach to risk mitigation.

You’ll be responsible for:
