Job description

Are you an experienced fiduciary professional who enjoys complexity, influence and variety?

Join HSBC Trustee (C.I.) Limited as an Associate Director in our Family Office team, where you’ll work at the intersection of wealth management, succession planning and international fiduciary services. You’ll manage sophisticated trust and corporate structures for ultra‑high-net-worth families, influence long‑term client outcomes and help shape the next generation of talent within the team.

This is an opportunity to take your HSBC career in a new direction, broaden your experience and build your leadership profile in a globally connected wealth‑management environment. No two client situations are the same: you’ll navigate international family dynamics, complex structures, diverse assets, regulatory requirements and evolving succession‑planning objectives.

As an HSBC employee in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man (CIIOM) you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all employees, enhanced parental and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a non‑contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

The Opportunity
Associate Director – Family Office

You’ll lead the day-to-day management of a portfolio of complex trust and corporate structures for Family Office clients, supported by junior team members. Working independently and as a senior point of support for the team, you’ll guide Trust Relationship Managers (TRMs) in managing succession‑planning structures for Global Private Banking (GPB) clients.

Your clients may include international families with large multi‑entity structures and diverse asset types. You’ll build trusted relationships and work closely with GPB Global Relationship Managers, GPB Market Heads, internal specialists and external tax and legal advisers to deliver joined‑up, high‑quality relationship management.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll also help shape how we work, develop colleagues and provide direction on complex matters. Your leadership will be visible through the quality of decisions, the confidence of your colleagues and the outcomes delivered for clients.

In this role, you’ll ideally have:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex trust and corporate structures, delivering high‑quality service for ultra‑high‑net‑worth Family Office clients
  • Strengthen existing client relationships while identifying opportunities to support sustainable portfolio growth and wider Trust & Fiduciary Services profitability
  • Convert new trust opportunities by supporting referrals and guiding Trust Relationship Managers through onboarding and establishment of structures
  • Build trusted relationships with international families and senior stakeholders by understanding objectives and shaping long‑term solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and hands‑on support to colleagues managing complex structures and client matters
  • Ensure relationship management aligns with HSBC’s risk‑management framework, the Jersey regulatory environment and relevant laws and regulations
  • Identify and mitigate structure‑specific risks through effective engagement with internal stakeholders and third‑party tax and legal advisers
  • Improve processes and ways of working to enhance client experience, operational efficiency and team effectiveness
  • Contribute to team and business initiatives including projects, management activities, revenue oversight and key indicators (KIs)
  • Act as an “A” authorised signatory, or equivalent, where required
It would be advantageous to hold:
  • A STEP Diploma or another relevant qualification in trust and company administration.
  • Other relevant professional or technical qualifications in fiduciary services, wealth management, tax or law.
Why this role?
This role offers the opportunity to:
  • Work with complex, international Family Office clients and sophisticated trust and corporate structures.
  • Influence decisions that support long‑term family, wealth and succession‑planning objectives.
  • Partner with senior colleagues across TFS, GPB and the wider HSBC Group.
  • Develop your technical, commercial, leadership and relationship‑management capabilities.
  • Coach and support colleagues while helping to shape a high‑performing specialist team.
  • Contribute to projects and improvements that enhance client service and operational effectiveness.
  • Build a career in a globally connected wealth‑management organisation.
  • Access tailored professional development opportunities and HSBC’s comprehensive benefits package.
