Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Birmingham to recruit an Associate Director Environmental Consultant. The role focuses on leading Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on major UK infrastructure projects.

You will mentor environmental professionals, drive client relationships and contribute to business development while delivering high-quality environmental advice within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or master's in an environmental/scientific discipline.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional institution, or progress towards chartership.
• Significant postgraduate experience within environmental consultancy.
• Extensive knowledge of the EIA process.
• Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Experience mentoring environmental professionals and contributing to team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental management projects.
• Mentor and manage a team of environmental professionals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams to embed environmental considerations in projects.
• Champion best practice in environmental performance and promote sustainable outcomes.
• Prepare, coordinate and review high-quality environmental reports and deliverables.
• Manage client relationships and provide clear, professional environmental advice.
• Support business development, including bid preparation and identifying new opportunities.
• Ensure project delivery meets high standards, on time and within budget.
