Job summary

Grant Thornton UK LLP in Manchester is seeking an Associate Director, Digital Tax to shape and deliver our digital tax strategy. You will partner with Engineering, Product and the Data Office to translate priorities into products, platforms and data capabilities that deliver measurable value for clients and colleagues.

You will influence senior stakeholders, oversee multiple workstreams, and drive adoption of new technologies, including AI, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience shaping or delivering digital or technology strategy in professional services, tax or a similarly complex environment.
• Track record of delivering technology-enabled change, working alongside engineering and product teams.
• Understanding of data platforms, data governance and how data underpins products and decision making.
• Understanding of the Microsoft technology stack and Anthropic tools, and how they are applied to automation and AI.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of the digital strategy for Tax, turning priorities into a clear roadmap with business cases and measurable outcomes.
• Work with Engineering, Product and the Data Office to translate strategy into delivered products, platforms and data capabilities.
• Act as the link between tax service lines and technical teams, shaping requirements and prioritising work by value, risk and feasibility.
• Oversee the delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple workstreams, ensuring they land on time, within budget and against agreed KPIs and success metrics.
• Prepare and maintain business cases, benefits tracking and governance reporting for senior leaders and investment decisions.
• Work with the Data Office on data strategy, quality, ownership and platform choices, so that data supports the products we build and the decisions we make.
• Engage partners and service line leaders to understand their challenges, build support for change and drive adoption.
• Track and assess emerging technology, including AI and automation, and recommend where it should be applied.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the wider digital community.
