Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom is seeking an Associate Director Dams and Reservoirs Engineer to lead complex hydraulic design for water sector projects, combining technical excellence with strategic delivery.

Based in Epsom or Peterborough with hybrid working 3 days on site, you will manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with design codes, and drive innovation for Thames Water and other water clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Civil Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
• Experience leading large-scale engineering design delivery for a design consultancy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures engineering including design of earth/concrete dams, flood walls and embankments, weirs and hydraulic structures.
• Exemplary communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and scientists for delivery of technical design work on complex reservoir and hydraulic structures projects.
• Develop project design deliverables for Reservoir aspects of multi-disciplinary projects and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Review and approve technical deliverables such as reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership within the D&AT practice and influence cross-practice initiatives.
• Grow and manage the Dams, Reservoirs and Hydraulic Structures capabilities within the practice.
• Guide junior team members and provide problem-solving support.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle and bid proposals.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
