Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead the dam and reservoir practice across the UK and internationally. You will drive technical excellence, oversee geotechnical design, assessments and rehabilitation, and mentor multidisciplinary teams.

The role involves delivering projects from concept through construction, supporting Reservoir Panel Engineers and shaping strategic client relationships within a growing water geotechnics business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised institution.
• Significant consultancy or infrastructure delivery experience focusing on earth dams and reservoirs.
• Experience leading geotechnical and dam engineering projects.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of dam and reservoir projects from concept to construction.
• Provide technical oversight for geotechnical assessments and dam safety evaluations.
• Lead design, assessment and rehabilitation of earth embankment dams and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate geotechnical inputs across large infrastructure programs.
• Support Reservoir Panel Engineers and contribute to inspections and risk assessments.
• Lead technical reviews and QA of reports, calculations and deliverables.
• Mentor graduates and engineers; drive professional development.
• Support business development and growth in the dams and reservoirs practice.
