Associate Director - Consents Management

Job summary

Mace is seeking a senior consents management leader to oversee delivery across assigned commissions within our London/UK framework. You will direct teams, mentor staff and ensure service excellence, while aligning with regulatory requirements and client expectations.

The role involves leading consents strategy, coordinating with PMO, managing key relationships and driving performance across projects and portfolios.

Qualifications

• 10+ yrs experience (or equivalent) as consents management leader delivering services on major construction programmes/portfolios.
• Chartered status or membership of a professional institution (e.g. RTPI or National Infrastructure Planning Association).
• Relevant university degree (e.g. town planning) or equivalent.
• Active engagement with peers in professional bodies to advance the profession.

Responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of the consents management team on assigned commissions.
• Supporting the hub PMO and project control director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
• Being accountable for the consents management service performance on assigned commission(s).
• Creating/designing effective consents management service frameworks/strategies.
• Managing and directing clients, consultants, contractors and project teams on all consents management service matters.
• Providing expert technical/functional advice and building strong professional relationships with client organisations.
• Acting as the subject matter expert on assigned projects/programmes/portfolios.
• Managing and directing team in the administration of all related processes including change, risks, issues and reporting to achieve key objectives and escalation of performance.
• Ensuring all activities/operations are carried out in line with Mace control centre, client requirements and prevailing legislation and regulations.
• Providing line management to more junior team members and other project/programme staff as required.
• Utilising expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of team.
• Innovating and aligning with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence.
• Managing a team of professional roles (may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching.

You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll Need To Have

• At least 10 yrs experience (or equivalent) as consents management services leader delivering a range of services on major construction programmes/portfolios.
• Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of professional a relevant professional institution e.g. Royal Town planning institute and or national infrastructure planning association.
• Relevant university degree (e.g. town planning) or equivalent.
• Actively engages with peers outside Mace within professional bodies and other forum to maintain professional knowledge and work across industry to advance the profession.
