Job summary

Mace is seeking a senior leader to head consents management on major construction programmes. You will lead delivery, shape frameworks, manage client relationships, and drive performance across commissions in a fast-paced environment.

You'll mentor teams, coordinate with PMO, and ensure compliance with legislation and Mace standards while championing safety, integrity and continuous improvement. Hybrid working options are available within the role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience delivering consents management on major construction programmes.
• Chartered status or membership of a relevant professional institution.
• University degree in town planning or equivalent.
• Actively engages with peers outside Mace within professional bodies to advance the profession.

Responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of the consents management team/s on the assigned commission(s).
• Supporting the hub PMO and project control director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
• Being accountable for the consents management service performance on assigned commission(s).
• Creating/designing effective consents management service framework(s)/strategy(s).
• Managing and directing clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all consents management service matters.
• Providing expert technical/functional advice and building strong professional relationships with client organisations.
• Acting as the subject matter expert on assigned project(s)/programme(s)/portfolio(s).
• Managing and directing team in the administration of all related processes including managing change, risks, issues and reporting to achieve key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues.
• Ensuring all activities/operations are carried out in line with Mace control centre, client requirements and prevailing legislation and regulations, guidance, advice and good practice.
• Providing line management to more junior team members and other project/programme staff as required.
• Utilising expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of team.
• Innovating and aligning with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence.
• Managing a team of professional roles (may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching.

You’ll Need To Have

• At least 10 yrs experience (or equivalent) as consents management services leader delivering a range of services on major construction programmes/portfolios.
• Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of professional a relevant professional institution e.g. Royal Town planning institute and or national infrastructure planning association.
• Relevant university degree (e.g. town planning) or equivalent.
• Actively engages with peers outside Mace within professional bodies and other forum to maintain professional knowledge and work across industry to advance the profession.
