Role

Construction is core to our work, and our team has a formidable reputation across the industry. We focus on a broad scope of UK contentious construction matters, acting for private and public sector developers. Our experience includes all major contract forms (JCT, NEC, ICE, FIDIC, PPC, GC Works), as well as PFI and bespoke contracts.

As part of a dedicated 27-strong national contentious construction team, you will work alongside colleagues across UK offices and collaborate with our London real estate practice. We are seeking Associates to join our London team due to year-on-year growth.

Responsibilities

1. Alternative dispute resolution, including adjudication, mediation, claims resolution, and litigation
2. Dispute avoidance and risk management
3. Contractual interpretation
4. Professional negligence cases
5. Domestic projects with opportunities in international matters
6. Business development and firm profile enhancement
7. Collaboration across offices and practice areas, including travel
8. Participation in training sessions
9. Building and maintaining client relationships
10. File management in compliance with Lexcel procedures

Requirements

The firm expects:

1. Qualified solicitor with 2-5 years' experience in contentious construction
2. Experience in adjudication, UK contentious construction, or international arbitration
3. Knowledge of standard form contracts like JCT, FIDIC, NEC
4. Passion for business development
