Job summary

SOCOTEC Advisory, part of SOCOTEC UK & Ireland, is seeking an Associate to join the Quantity Surveying Services team. You will support cost planning, contract administration, delay analysis and dispute resolution across UK and international projects, wearing the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

The role requires a proactive, reliable, and flexible professional with a background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering, and knowledge of JCT, NEC and FIDIC contracts.

Qualifications

• Background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering with knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and dispute resolution.
• Experience with different suites of construction contracts and claims assessment.
• Experience in writing and contributing to expert reports.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction cost management (Quantum) or construction project management (Delay).

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced critical review and analyses of construction project records.
• Produce analyses and communicate findings clearly to project peers and clients, with referenced records and stated assumptions.
• Draft sections of reports, notes and external communications with minimal supervision.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Associate to join our team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering, along with knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and dispute resolution proceedings, is essential to thrive in this position.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

• Conduct advanced critical review and analyses of construction project records
• Produce analyses and communicate findings internally to project peers and externally for clients in clear and objective form, referencing records reviewed, assumptions taken and, if necessary, the decision-making process that led to the findings
• Draft sections of reports, notes and external communications with minimal supervision

To be a successful Associate, you should be able to demonstrate:

• Comprehensive knowledge of construction cost management (for Quantum) and/or construction project management (for Delay)
• Experience in working in accordance with different suites of construction contracts (i.e. JCT, NEC, FIDIC), with input and exposure to assessing claims and dealing with project records
• Experience in writing and contributing to expert reports
