Job summary

Aligra is seeking an experienced yard professional to join a fast-growing UK recycling and environmental services company. You will work closely with the Yard Manager to support safe, efficient yard operations and contribute to training and career progression.

The role offers training, development opportunities, and clear career progression within a stable, growing business. Salary from £40,000 per annum with Monday to Friday hours and optional Saturday overtime.

Qualifications

• Valid Forklift and 360 Excavator licences.
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel between sites.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a yard, waste, recycling or logistics environment.
• Strong communication, decision-making and people-management skills.
• Practical, hands-on approach with a good understanding of health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily running of the site and manage staff cover.
• Act as authorised Key Holder and responsible for site security when required.
• Lead and develop yard supervisors and operatives.
• Promote health, safety and continuous improvement.
• Carry out risk assessments and maintain high standards of housekeeping.

The role:

Working closely with the Yard Manager, you’ll support safe and efficient yard operations including:

• Acting as authorised Key Holder and responsible for site security when required
