Lloyd Recruitment Services Ltd near Gatwick is seeking a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the warehouse and distribution operation. The role balances leadership with customer interaction and delivery support in a practical, organised environment.

You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations, deliveries, stock control, and trade counter support, while ensuring smooth running of the team and processes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (up to three points acceptable).
• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks.
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to use their own initiative.
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery vehicles are prepared correctly and loaded with right products.
• Deliveries to regular customers across the Southeast and Midlands.
• Unloading stock on delivery and handling non-site customers.
• Guide warehouse team to ensure next-day deliveries are ready on time.
• Pick, pack, and process orders during busy periods using courier systems.
• Assist customers at the trade counter and arrange despatch.
• Receive incoming stock, check deliveries, and book into the system.
• Manage stock levels, warehouse movements, and product rotation.
• Be the key holder and oversee warehouse operations when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable.
