Job summary

Lloyd Recruitment Services is seeking a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to join the team near Gatwick, balancing warehouse leadership with customer interaction and delivery support.

You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and help oversee day-to-day operations, deliveries, stock control, and trade counter support, ensuring smooth warehouse functionality and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence; held to 3 points maximum
• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
• Physically able to perform manual handling tasks
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Proactive, reliable and able to use own initiative

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery vehicles are prepared and loaded with correct products
• Deliveries to regular customers across the Southeast and Midlands
• Unload stock on delivery, including when customers are not on site
• Assist and guide warehouse team to ensure next-day deliveries are ready
• Pick, pack and process orders during busy periods using courier systems
• Assist customers at the trade counter and arrange despatch
• Receive incoming stock, check deliveries and book items into the system
• Help manage stock levels, warehouse movements and product rotation
• Take responsibility for warehouse operations as a key holder when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable
