Job description

FM Conway is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Unit Manager to join our Aggregate and Asphalt division. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will support the safe and efficient running of the Asphalt Plant, ensuring compliance, high performance, and continual improvement. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Heathrow Asphalt Plant.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Unit Manager in all aspects of the asphalt plant operation
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies
  • Working closely with the maintenance team to ensure plant reliability and performance
  • Managing stock levels and liaising with the shipping agency to arrange replenishment
  • Overseeing mixing plans and production to maximise efficiency and quality
  • Analysing KPI data and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting, motivating and developing operational teams to achieve excellence
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of incidents and maintaining high safety standards

We are looking for a proactive leader with strong asphalt or aggregates operational experience and a solid understanding of health and safety standards. You will be commercially aware, computer literate and capable of managing teams in a fast paced environment. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
