The opportunity:

Are you looking for the next step in your underwriting career? As a member of the Commercial Insurance Real Estate team, you’ll work in an established underwriting team, managing a portfolio of domestic Real Estate risks in accordance with Zurich guidelines.

You’ll take a solution-oriented approach as you develop your underwriting career with our broker partners and customers. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other lines of business to meet customer needs.

What will you be doing?

  • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within our transactional domestic team and/or within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments.
  • Administer and monitor underwriting guidelines, ensuring compliance with insurance laws, regulations, and pricing manuals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Line of Business representatives for referrals and business needs.
  • Collaborate with Risk Engineering, Claims, and Customer Teams as needed.
  • Support financial processing and premium collection as required.
  • Build relationships with cedants and brokers to support business retention and acquisition, providing insurance solutions.
  • Qualify accounts to align with the organization's risk appetite and business opportunities.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, and close deals.
  • Cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density.
  • Review large or complex underwriting submissions and conduct annual reviews.
  • Represent Zurich at internal and external events.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience with Insurer/Reinsurer work on Real Estate/Property or similar technical lines is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, broker, and market clauses.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications or an accredited degree.
  • A disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing.
