The opportunity:

Are you looking for the next step in your underwriting career? As a member of the Commercial Insurance Real Estate team, you’ll work in an established underwriting team, managing a portfolio of domestic Real Estate risks in accordance with Zurich guidelines.

You’ll develop your Underwriting career with a solution-oriented approach, collaborating with broker partners and customers. You’ll also work with other lines of business to meet customer needs.

What will you be doing?

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within our transactional domestic team or delegated authority levels of complex assignments.
• Administer and monitor underwriting guidelines, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and pricing manuals.
• Collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and business needs.
• Coordinate with Risk Engineering/Claims and Customer Teams as needed.
• Support financial processing and premium collection with the Finance team.
• Build relationships with cedants & brokers to support business retention and acquisition, providing insurance solutions.
• Qualify accounts to align with the organization’s risk appetite and business opportunities.
• Negotiate terms & conditions and close deals.
• Cross-sell other lines of business to enhance product density.
• Review large/complex underwriting submissions and conduct annual reviews.
• Represent Zurich at internal and external events.

What are we looking for?

• Experience with Insurer/Reinsurer on Real Estate/Property or similar technical lines is beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, broker, and market clauses.
• Insurance-related qualifications or degrees.
• Disciplined approach to risk evaluation, assessment, and pricing.
