Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an Assistant Transport Planner for the Highway Development Management Team at County Hall, Leicester. You will provide highway development management advice to support transport assessments across development projects and assist the Senior Transport Planner on more complex sites.

Key duties include managing a caseload of minor sites, engaging in pre-application discussions, outlining planning and reserved matters, and negotiating Section 106

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to meet tight targets.
• Experience in highway development management or land use planning preferred.
• Ability to interpret and write technical reports.
• Experience in transport analysis or assessment work.
• Knowledge of planning processes as it relates to highways and transportation.
• Valid full driving licence.
• Commitment to inclusive services.

Responsibilities

• Provide highway development management advice to support transport assessments across development projects.
• Manage a caseload of minor sites and assist Senior Transport Planner on more complex sites.
• Contribute to pre-application enquiries, outline planning, reserved matters and appeals as necessary.
• Negotiate Section 106 contributions and identify funding sources.
• Foster partnerships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities.
