Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited seeks an Assistant Survey Manager in Blackburn for a long-term, office-based role with occasional site visits across the Northwest and Yorkshire. You’ll shift from field work to quality control, supporting a team and progressing into a Survey Manager position while keeping hands-on surveying knowledge.

You’ll review outputs using AutoCAD, N4ce and Reg360, train junior surveyors and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Background in land/topographical surveying or related field.
• Experience with processing software such as AutoCAD, N4ce and Reg360.
• Ability to train and support junior surveyors.

Assistant Survey Manager

£35,000 - £42,000 + Progression to Survey Manager + Training & Development + Overtime + Quarterly Bonus

Blackburn, Lancashire (Commutable from: Preston, , Burnley, Lancaster, Chorley, Accrington, Bolton, Skipton) Are you a Land Surveyor, Utility Surveyor or Measured Building Surveyor looking to come off the tools and step into a role where you'll be trusted to check quality, support a team and progress into a Survey Manager position? On offer is a long-term role with a well-established specialist surveying business, where you'll combine office-based checking / processing with regular site-based support, giving you a clear step up in responsibility without losing touch with the technical work. This company deliver topographical surveying, laser scanning and PAS128 utility surveying across water treatment, construction, civils and highways. Due to continued growth plans (with ambitious expansion targets through to 2030), they're looking to add an experienced surveyor who can raise standards, develop junior staff and help the team scale. In this role you'll be a key point of contact for quality control, checking survey outputs before they go to the client, reviewing data processing, and training junior surveyors on best practice. You'll be mainly office based with the occasional site visits covering mainly the Northwest and Yorkshire.

The Role:

• Quality checking survey works and outputs before issue to the client
• Reviewing processing / deliverables using AutoCAD, N4ce and Reg360
• Training and supporting junior surveyors, with some site supervision
• Covering sites across the North West and Yorkshire (typically within an hour radius)
• Office-based , hours 8:00 - 4:30

The Person:

• Background in land / topographical surveying and confident checking deliverables
• Experience with processing software such as AutoCAD, N4ce and/or Reg360
• Positive, adaptable approach and comfortable coaching / supporting junior staff
