Reality Enterprise Ltd T/A CEX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Stockton store. Based in Stockton-on-Tees, you will support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, lead a sales team, and drive excellent customer service and sales performance.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, manage stock and merchandising, and ensure health and safety standards are followed. The role requires hands-on leadership and flexibility to cover shifts, including weekends.

Job Description

Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £29,000 per year
Contract: Full-time, permanent

We are looking for a driven and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to join our Stockton store. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in running the day-to-day operation of a busy retail environment, helping to lead the team, deliver excellent customer service, and drive sales performance.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Store Manager in the daily running of the store
• Leading, motivating, and developing a team of sales staff
• Recruit, train, and appraise team members to maintain high performance.
• Handle staffing matters such as interviews, appraisals, and performance reviews.
• Make full use of Google Workspace tools and our bespoke MEPOS systems.
• Ensuring excellent customer service standards at all times
• Driving sales and hitting store targets
• Managing stock levels, deliveries, and merchandising
• Handling rotas, cash management, and opening/closing procedures
• Maintain compliance with health & safety and security regulations.
• Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Attend and lead meetings, sharing updates on performance, initiatives, and priorities.
• Regularly tour the sales floor, engaging with staff and customers to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Stay up to date with market trends, customer behaviour, and local competitor activity.
• Stepping up to run the store in the Store Manager's absence
