Job summary

Retail Human Resources plc is recruiting an Assistant Store Manager for a premium fashion retailer in Birmingham. You will support the Store Manager, develop a high-performing team and deliver an outstanding shopping experience.

You’ll drive sales, manage KPIs and ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining visual merchandising standards. The role offers progression opportunities within a supportive, customer-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in day-to-day running of the store.
• Lead, coach, and develop the team to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Drive sales, KPIs and overall commercial performance.
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience that drives loyalty and repeat business.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Analyse trading performance and support the implementation of action plans to maximise results.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are executed to the highest level.
• Assist with staffing, rota planning, and payroll control.
• Support stock management, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
• Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive working environment.
• Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring the store always reflects the retailer’s premium positioning.
