Job Summary:
This is an exciting 12-month opportunity to become an Assistant Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager represents the Disney brand, alongside the Store Manager, leading the team in engaging Guests in magical experiences throughout the Store. They set high standards, coach and support the team to deliver exceptional Guest Service, and create a high-energy work environment to drive company initiatives and achieve goals. They support the Store Manager and, in their absence, drive the store’s performance through motivation, effective scheduling, and cost control.
Primary Responsibilities

- Ensure company Visual Merchandising standards are maintained, with outstanding presentation of Stage, Backstage, and Window Displays.
- Analyze sales results and develop action plans to increase sales through smart product placement.
- Manage Visual Merchandising activities, including delivery, markdowns, POS placement, recovery, replenishment, and stage moves, adhering to guidelines.
- Coach Cast Members to achieve Disney Visual Merchandising standards.
- Provide feedback and coaching to the team.
- Make sound business decisions balancing priorities to create a magical guest experience.
- Implement strategies to improve KPIs such as sales, conversion, AGS, UPT, and Magic Touch, and explain these KPIs to the team.
- Assist in devising ways to motivate Cast Members to meet KPIs, including competitions and activities.
- Manage time effectively to achieve sales results and assist others in prioritization.
- Lead, stage manage, and coach Cast Members to deliver excellent Guest Service and achieve sales targets.
Service
- Represent the Disney Brand by leading with example to provide Guests with magical experiences.
- Mentor, train, and coach Cast Members to develop their ability to deliver Magical Service.
- Approach guests warmly and friendly, listening and asking questions to meet their needs.
- Coach Cast Members to find opportunities to surprise and delight Guests using Disney product knowledge and storytelling.
- Stay updated with Disney Knowledge, encourage the team to do the same, and enhance team knowledge through training.
- Tailor interactions to each Guest, quickly adapt to new requests, and use information to find solutions, always prioritizing the Guest.
- Plan and monitor the effectiveness of events for Guests, both individual and group.
- Evaluate Service performance through observation and tools like the Magic Touch to develop improvement plans in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Contribution
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring compliance with Disney Policies, Store Operating Procedures, and local employment laws, including Health and Safety, Loss Prevention, and cash handling.
- Assist in recruitment, development, discipline, and performance management of the team.
- Maintain the integrity of the Disney brand through grooming and behavior standards.
- Champion Disney-sponsored community events (Volunt’EARs) that positively impact the community.
- Lead the delivery process efficiently, following guidelines and achieving goals.
- Achieve shrinkage targets and train the team on inventory accuracy.
- Maintain high standards of administration and assume key holder responsibilities in accordance with Disney policies.
- In some stores, first aid training may be required to comply with regulations.
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about Disney, sharing facts and stories.
- Manage a team to deliver outstanding customer service to guests of all ages.
- Communicate effectively with Guests and team members.
- Manage recruitment, development, discipline, and performance of the team.
- Drive team results with strong business acumen and excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Engage Guests of all ages, especially children, with an approachable and professional demeanor.
- Ensure attention to detail and accuracy in administration.
