Job summary

Strathberry, a contemporary luxury brand, seeks an Assistant Store Manager for its London boutique. You will act as brand ambassador, manage daily store operations and ensure customers receive an exceptional experience.

Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, you will lead a fast‑growing team with a focus on sales, service and brand storytelling. This is a full‑time, permanent onsite role with 40 hours across a 7‑day week.

Qualifications

  • Retail management experience in fashion or luxury retail.
  • Experience driving KPIs and managing staff and inventory.
  • Ability to record stock counts and rectify discrepancies.
  • Strong leadership and brand storytelling capabilities.
  • Organised, multitasker with delegation skills.
  • Professional decision-maker with numeracy and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience hosting instore events and outreach to external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations and ensure high standards.

  • Oversee stock management, POS and monthly stocktakes.

The Role

Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will hold a key role within our fast-growing business, where you will act as an ambassador for the brand, managing the daily operations of the store and ensuring all customers receive the best experience. As Strathberry is a rapidly growing organisation there is also an opportunity for continued professional development.

Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at our London retail location. Working 5 shifts a week on a rotating shift pattern, equating to 40 hours over a 7-day week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the daily operations of the stores.
  • Ensuring the boutique upholds high standards on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage and motivate the performance of the sales team to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.
  • Dealing with customer complaints and feedback.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are followed, and all VM guidelines are adhered too.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation including health and safety within the boutique.
  • Take responsibility for the boutique in their absence and supporting across commercial, operational and people priorities.
  • Close control of stock management and POS system.
  • Managing monthly stocktakes within the boutique.
  • Weekly cash management and banking.
  • Understanding changes in spending habits and influencing direction of the store to accommodate this.
  • Working closely with your store manager and retail merchandising to ensure the boutique has the correct stock holding to maximise all sale opportunities.
  • Assisting to coordinate in-store retail activity.
  • Assisting new team members with onboarding within the Edinburgh retail team.
  • Outreach to hotels and tour guide networks to build a client referral network.

About you

To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Retail management experience required, with a minimum of 3 years in fashion or luxury retail management.
  • Experience in driving KPI’s, staff planning and inventory management.
  • Knowledge on how to record monthly stock counts and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and confidence to effectively communicate the brand story.
  • Organised, able to multitask, prioritise and delegate tasks.
  • Professional with the ability to confidently make decisions.
  • A proficient level of numeracy and the ability to produce and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience of networking and outreach of external partners.
  • Experience of managing and hosting of instore and external events/popups.
