Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a large-scale private housing development in Gobowen, West Midlands. The role supports the Site Manager to deliver the project safely, on programme, and to high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in large-scale new-build housing, with both traditional and timber frame construction knowledge. SMSTS preferred, CSCS card essential, and strong leadership and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience on large-scale, private, new-build housing developments.
• Previous role as Assistant Site Manager within new build housing.
• Experience with traditional build and timber frame construction.
• SMSTS preferred; SSSTS acceptable.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, health & safety, and site procedures.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and trades.
• Knowledge of build programmes, quality control, and site management.
• Good communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Able to work in a busy, high-volume housebuilding environment.
• Potential for long-term role for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of the development alongside the Site Manager.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades; monitor progress.
• Ensure safety, programme delivery and quality standards are met on site.
• Maintain health and safety standards across the development.
• Contribute to achieving high-quality build outcomes.
