Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are currently partnering with a respected house builder to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manager for a large residential development in Wigan. The role involves supporting daily site operations, coordinating trades, and driving progress while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

The successful candidate will contribute to a 160-unit timber frame development and work closely with the site team to ensure on-program delivery and compliance with NHBC standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential new build construction.
• Strong understanding of timber frame developments.
• Ability to coordinate and manage subcontractors effectively.
• Focus on quality, health & safety and programme delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Manager with day-to-day site running and coordination.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and trades.
• Monitor build progress and ensure programme targets are met.
• Check workmanship and ensure homes meet specifications.
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
• Ensure all site activities are safely conducted per procedures.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting programme or quality.
• Support inductions, toolbox talks and daily site briefings.
• Maintain site housekeeping and a safe, tidy environment.
• Work with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and project team.
• Ensure works comply with building regulations and NHBC standards.
