Job summary

Vistry Group in Peterborough is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in delivering a safe, compliant, and high‑quality build. You will coordinate subcontractors, materials and site operations while maintaining strong customer-facing communication.

This role emphasizes health and safety, snagging and inspections, as well as presenting a professional site presence. The ideal candidate has experience on new build projects and relevant certifications, and values in‑person

• Experience working on new build projects.
• Experience in the management of Health and Safety.
• Conversation / presentational skills in customer facing role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, supporting the site manager in corrective actions and risk management.
• Coordinate with utility companies, trades and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials and services.
• Attend and support weekly site meetings to promote communication, standards and safety.
• Maintain site presentation, secure necessary documentation, and manage site inductions for all personnel.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety practices, accident reporting and environmental policies.
• Oversee quality control, including inspections and snagging to ensure trades and materials meet standards.
• Provide support in customer-facing activities, including home demonstrations and service visits.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team within Vistry North Midlands, at our Peterborough site. As our Assistant Site Manager, you will assist the Site Manager in ensuring site compliance with health and safety, coordinating subcontractors and materials, and maintaining construction quality. You will support site operations, inspections, snagging, and customer‑facing activities to ensure a safe and efficient build process.

Desirable…

• NVQ Level 3, 4 or 5 in Building Construction or similar
• Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
• Valid LOLER certificate
• Qualified to the required CIOB Grade applicable at the time in accordance with group policy
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Project and Asta Team plan
• Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
• Valid SMSTS Certificate
• Valid CITB SEATS certificate
• Assisting in the management of all aspects of the build process
• Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety, and environmental obligations and building legislation
