Job summary

Vistry is seeking a Site Manager to lead day-to-day on-site operations for a West Yorkshire development. You will manage labour, resources, and subcontractors to deliver quality homes on schedule and within budget.

The role requires a strong background in new build housing, excellent leadership, and robust health & safety knowledge. A collaborative, proactive approach and site coordination with purchasing teams are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site operations to ensure adherence to specifications, timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, promoting a safety culture.
  • Direct labour, equipment and resources to achieve project completion on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing delays, risks or issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess quality, safety and progress.
  • Coordinate with Buying and Surveying teams for timely procurement of materials and services.
  • Manage site teams, monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the site sales executive.
  • Ensure permits and inspections are in place before and during the project.
  • Maintain site records and assist with project closeout.
  • Support training and development of team members.
  • Ensure NHBC standards and building regulations compliance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team within Vistry, at our West Yorkshire office for a development in Barnsley. As our Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a construction site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will manage teams, coordinate resources, enforce health and safety regulations, and liaise with contractors, suppliers, partners and customers.
