Job summary

Vistry Group in Northampton is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager on a new build housing phase at Norwood Farm. You will help ensure health and safety compliance, coordinate subcontractors and materials, and maintain construction quality on site.

This role emphasizes hands-on site operations, snagging, and customer-facing activities. A UK driving licence and NVQ in Building Construction are desirable, along with proficiency in MS Word/Excel and Power Project.

Qualifications

• Experience managing health and safety on-site.
• Experience on new build housing.
• Timber frame build experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• NVQ Level 3-5 in Building Construction.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Project and Asta Team Plan.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, supporting the site manager in corrective actions and risk management.
• Coordinate with utility companies, trades, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials and services.
• Attend and support weekly site meetings, promoting communication, standards, and safety.
• Maintain site presentation, secure necessary documentation, and manage site inductions for all personnel.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety practices, accident reporting, and environmental policies.
• Oversee and maintain quality control, including inspections, snagging, and ensuring quality standards for trades and materials.
• Provide support in customer-facing activities, including home demonstrations, service visits, and addressing customer queries and issues.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team within Vistry South Central Midlands, on our newest phase on site at Norwood Farm, Northampton. As our Assistant Site Manager, you will assist the Site Manager in ensuring site compliance with health and safety, coordinating subcontractors and materials, and maintaining construction quality. You will support site operations, inspections, snagging, and customer-facing activities to ensure a safe and efficient build process.
