Job summary

King Living is opening a Lakeside Retail Park showroom and seeks an Assistant Showroom Manager to work with the Showroom Manager to build a high-performing team, drive sales and deliver a premium customer experience from launch.

You will support leadership, coach staff, maintain brand standards and step in during the Manager's absence. Experience in premium furniture or design-led retail is highly desirable, with weekend work availability and strong communication.

• Proven experience in retail leadership within a premium or luxury environment.
• Experience in opening a new store is advantageous.
• Strong communication, customer focus and problem-solving on the shop floor.

Join King Living from day one at our new Lakeside Retail Park showroom. As Assistant Showroom Manager, you will work closely with the Showroom Manager to build a high-performing team, drive sales and deliver a premium customer experience from launch.

You will step up confidently in the Showroom Manager's absence, contribute commercially every day and help set the standards, culture and energy of the showroom from the outset. Previous experience in furniture, interiors, homewares or a design-led retail environment would be highly desirable.

What You Will Own

Sales & Customer Experience

Inspire strong sales performance and deliver warm, consultative customer experiences that build trust and drive confident purchasing decisions.

Team Leadership

Support the Showroom Manager to coach, motivate and develop a high-performing team from day one.

Showroom Operations

Help maintain high operational, presentation and brand standards across the showroom.

Acting Leadership

Lead the showroom confidently in the Showroom Manager's absence, making decisions, supporting the team and maintaining performance.

Who You Are

You will likely come from a premium retail, furniture, interiors or lifestyle brand background - either stepping into your first formal leadership role or looking for a position where your ambition is genuinely matched by the environment around you.

Experience in a new store opening is a genuine advantage. What matters most is your commercial instinct, your people skills, and the standard you hold yourself to every day on the floor.

You are a retail leader in the making - or already there - who takes pride in the team, the showroom and the results.

• Proven experience in a retail leadership or senior sales role within a premium or luxury environment
• Customer-obsessed - you build trust, inspire confidence, and create experiences customers remember
• A natural coach and team player - you make the people around you better
• Commercially aware with an understanding of targets, budgets and showroom performance
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable - available to work one weekend day as part of your regular roster
• Experience in furniture, textiles or interior design is highly regarded
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable across retail systems
