Are you someone who is excited about charity retail, fashion, and can use your initiative? Do you have experience managing a retail team? If yes, then please keep reading as we may have the role for you.

We are excited to be looking for an Assistant Shop Manager for our shop in Denbigh, working 37.5 hours per week.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to help our store reach its full potential.

As an Assistant Shop Manager, you will:

1. Help develop in-store systems and promote donations and sales to maximize profits
2. Represent Mencap as an efficient and charitable organization by ensuring your actions reinforce our aims and values
3. Encourage stock generation from the local area and donors
4. Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme and ensure maximum income through Gift Aid
5. Be responsible for achieving profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively
6. Maintain the store to a high standard of presentation
7. Build an effective volunteer team, providing training, development, work reviews, and appraisals to paid staff and volunteers
8. Handle all financial and cash handling responsibilities and ensure health and safety compliance

To be successful as an Assistant Shop Manager, you will:

• Be an experienced assistant manager or supervisor with the ability to maintain budgets and complete weekly income and banking sheets accurately, preferably with charity retail experience
• Have a flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays as needed
• Be willing to travel to team meetings, training events, and assist with setting up new stores
• Be passionate about Mencap’s values and committed to the success of our retail brand
