Job description

Location: Bangor, Gwynedd
Hours: 21 per week
Contract: Fixed-term for 4 months (maternity leave cover)
Salary: £23,161 per annum based on 35 hours per week

A day in the life of an Assistant Shop Manager involves:
  1. Collaborating with the shop manager to run a profitable, customer-focused shop that represents the British Red Cross on the high street.
  2. Working on the shop floor and coordinating activities behind the scenes—no two days are the same.
  3. Fostering a welcoming shopping environment and providing excellent customer service.
  4. Overseeing a team of dedicated volunteers, including their induction, management, and development.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
  1. Retail experience and know-how from working in a shop environment.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills, enjoying providing great customer experiences and supporting a team.
  3. Commercial awareness, understanding financial targets and measures, along with IT skills.
  4. Flexibility to work according to the store’s needs.
