Astute People are recruiting for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician to join an Energy from Waste Power Station in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The role offers a salary of £46,466, with bonuses, overtime, and benefits.

The ideal candidate will monitor plant machinery, follow Safe System of Work, and help meet production targets. Prior process/manufacturing experience and a health & safety qualification are advantageous. Willingness to work 12-hour shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in engineering is ideal but not mandatory.
• IOSH or similar health and safety qualification is advantageous.
• Mobile plant operation licences (e.g. forklift) are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and conduct plant checks on site machinery to ensure optimum performance.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and Safe System of Work.
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses per procedures.
• Assist in reaching daily production targets as defined by site management.
• Proactively improve operational and safety efficiencies on site.
• Assist with loading and unloading operations.
• Operate mobile plant and machinery.

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The vital Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of £46,466 (inclusive of shift and location allowances) + Bonus + overtime + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

• Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
• Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work.
• Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
• Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site.
• Assist with loading and unloading operations.
• Operation of mobile plant and machinery.

Professional qualifications

• A formal qualification in an engineering discipline would be ideal but not a necessity.
• A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous.
• Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal (forklift, counterbalance, etc).

Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge

• An Understanding of process/factory machinery.
• Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
• Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
• A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry.
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts.
