The Role:

Silcom Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly successful independent motor trade business in the recruitment of an experienced Assistant Service Manager to join their busy aftersales operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Service Advisor, Assistant Service Manager or Parts & Service professional looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced and growing automotive environment.

Working within a large and busy workshop operation, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the service department. The position combines front-of-house customer service, workshop control and parts responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role.

You will act as a key link between customers, technicians and the wider business, ensuring work progresses efficiently, parts are available when required and customers receive a consistently high level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle front-of-house duties including customer enquiries, service bookings, vehicle handovers and progress updates.
• Liaise closely with technicians to manage workshop workflow and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
• Support the day-to-day running of a busy workshop, including job allocation, workload planning and monitoring work in progress.
• Manage parts requirements for the workshop, identifying, sourcing and ordering the correct parts as required.
• Liaise with parts suppliers, monitor outstanding orders and ensure parts are available to minimise workshop downtime.
• Assist with stock control and maintain accurate records of parts ordered and supplied.
• Ensure job cards are completed accurately, including labour, parts and additional work carried out.
• Prepare and check invoices, ensuring all work and parts are correctly charged before customer handover.
• Communicate additional work requirements and associated costs clearly and professionally to customers.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the repair and servicing process, proactively resolving any queries or concerns.
• Work closely with technicians and management to maximise workshop productivity and efficiency.
• Assist with vehicle preparation and aftersales requirements across both cars and commercial vehicles.
• Support the Service Manager with operational decisions and the continued improvement of departmental processes.
• Help maintain high standards of workshop organisation, compliance and health & safety.

The Package:

Basic Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus £45,000 OTE!

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm + No Weekends - enjoy a great work-life balance
