Job summary

Fera Science Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Scientist to prepare and extract samples for chemical analysis by our LC-MS team.

You will manage your own time, submit daily batches, and assist with quality, safety and operation tasks in the lab. Responsibilities include supporting busy periods with log and pre-extraction steps, performing extraction and clean-up using wet chemistry techniques, maintaining lab housekeeping, calibrations, SOPs, and contributing to continuous improvement within a

Qualifications

• Experience of sample extraction, clean-up & wet chemistry techniques.
• Good organisational and time management skills to meet internal deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work under pressure during busy times.
• Self-motivated with ability to develop good working relationships across the team.
• Attention to detail and experience in quality systems (ISO 17025 or GLP).
• Comfortable working with animal products (e.g., blood, kidneys, serum, livers).

Responsibilities

• Support sample preparation during busy periods and log samples on the LIMS.
• Extract and clean-up samples for chemical analysis using wet chemistry techniques.
• Support daily operations of the lab, including housekeeping, stock checks and calibrations.
• Follow quality assurance and safety procedures.
• Work from SOPs to defined standards and contribute to improvements.
