Job summary

Fera Science in York is seeking a Laboratory Facilities Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the molecular laboratories within the Plant Health Team. You will be the primary contact for lab users, ensuring facilities are compliant, well-maintained and efficiently run.

You will manage scheduling, inductions, training, supplier liaison, and procurements, while upholding ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and health safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory facilities, preferably molecular labs or containment level II.
• Excellent planning, organisation and record-keeping.
• Experience with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong communication and ability to support facility users.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the Molecular Technology Facility and schedule equipment maintenance.
• Liaise with facility users, conduct inductions and training for staff and visitors.
• Chair monthly facilities meetings and communicate information to users.
• Procure facilities goods with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Ensure ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and health & safety standards are maintained.
