Job summary

Fera Science in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Scientist to support sample preparation for chemical analysis. You will prepare and extract samples, manage batches daily, and assist the LC-MS team with QA and safety responsibilities.

The role involves routine lab tasks, log entries, and following SOPs to high quality standards, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvements within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Experience with sample extraction or willingness to learn wet chemistry.
• Ability to log samples and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Experience in quality systems (ISO 17025 or GLP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sample preparation and log samples on LIMS.
• Extract and clean-up samples for chemical analysis.
• Support daily laboratory operations including housekeeping, stock checks, and calibration tasks.
• Follow QA and safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Draft and follow SOPs to defined quality standards.
