Job description

We are recruiting an experienced and vibrant full-time Deputy Store Manager for our Chelsea store.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the store, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for customers while maintaining a high standard of service, quality, and brand representation. The role involves overseeing sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory management, staff supervision, and training, all while aligning with the Hayley Menzies brand values.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Experience:
    • Deliver a high level of personalised service to customers, ensuring each individual receives an exceptional shopping experience.
    • Assist customers in selecting luxury products, providing expert knowledge and style advice.
    • Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  2. Sales and Performance:
    • Support the Sales Manager in driving sales targets and performance goals.
    • Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to improve conversion rates and average transaction values.
    • Assist in setting and executing seasonal sales promotions and product launches.
  3. Staff Management and Development:
    • Supervise, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates.
    • Provide ongoing training to staff on product knowledge, customer service, and brand standards.
    • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create development plans.
  4. Visual Merchandising and Store Presentation:
    • Assist in implementing visual merchandising guidelines to maintain an attractive store environment.
    • Ensure displays reflect current trends and the brand’s luxury aesthetic.
    • Manage stock placement and ensure products are displayed in an organized and visually appealing manner.
  5. Operations and Inventory Management:
    • Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper storage.
    • Oversee stock replenishment and assist with stocktaking and auditing processes.
    • Maintain a high standard of store cleanliness, organization, and luxury presentation.
  6. Store Administration:
    • Support daily operational functions including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store security.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including loss prevention and health and safety standards.
    • Manage store scheduling to ensure adequate staff coverage during peak times.
  7. Brand Representation:
    • Uphold the brand’s image and standards at all times, ensuring all staff represent the luxury brand professionally and stylishly.
    • Stay informed about the brand’s latest collections, product offerings, and industry trends to share knowledge with customers and staff.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in luxury or high-end retail environments.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a keen understanding of luxury client expectations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and drive business performance.
  • A passion for fashion and luxury brands with a deep knowledge of products, trends, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with clientelling and managing a high-net-worth customer base is an advantage.
