Job summary

Regional Main Contractor in the South of England is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a varied portfolio of projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers, handling procurement, valuations and cost reporting from procurement through to final account, with opportunities to progress through the business and take ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant QS or QS in UK construction.
• Experience with a main contractor on new-build, refurbishment or design-and-build projects.
• Understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and cost control.
• Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills.
• Confident communicating with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous.

An established regional main contractor is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, working on a varied portfolio of construction projects across the South of England.

The business delivers a diverse range of new-build, refurbishment, extension and design-and-build projects across the education, healthcare, care home, commercial, leisure and heritage sectors.

Typical schemes include school and educational facility developments, care home construction and extensions, commercial buildings, community facilities, specialist refurbishments and the restoration or alteration of existing buildings.

Assistant QS / QS - The Role

Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will be involved in managing the commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account.

The level of responsibility will depend on experience, with the opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to develop their skills or an established Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of individual projects.

• Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills.

• Confident communicating with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous.
