Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Plymouth is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing property and construction consultancy. You will work on varied projects across the UK, gaining exposure to cost management, procurement and contract administration.

You’ll collaborate with experienced QS and PMs, develop your technical knowledge, and have opportunities for MRICS progression. The role offers hybrid working and a supportive, close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Property/construction consultancy experience in a similar role.
• Around 18+ months’ Quantity Surveying experience.
• Exposure to cost management and commercial delivery.
• Good understanding of construction processes and contracts.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on responsibility.
• Interest in progressing towards MRICS, where applicable.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost planning, estimating and budgeting.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports.
• Support procurement and tendering exercises.
• Assist with contract administration and commercial management.
• Valuations, variations and payment applications.
• Monitor project costs and expenditure.
• Support senior surveyors with client reporting and meetings.
• Work with Project Managers and other disciplines to deliver projects.
• Develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility as you gain experience.
