Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Plymouth is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing property and construction consultancy. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects and develop your cost management, reporting and procurement skills alongside experienced QS and PM professionals.

You’ll contribute from early stages through to completion, supporting cost planning, budgets, measurements and valuations while aiming to progress towards MRICS and broader project management

Qualifications

• Experience within a property/construction consultancy environment
• Around 18+ months’ Quantity Surveying experience
• Exposure to cost management and commercial delivery
• Good understanding of construction processes and contracts
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take on responsibility
• A relevant degree or professional qualification
• An interest in progressing towards MRICS, where applicable
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Responsibilities

• As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the delivery of projects from early stages through to completion, including:
• Assisting with cost planning, estimating and budgeting
• Preparing and maintaining cost reports
• Supporting procurement and tendering exercises
• Assisting with contract administration and commercial management
• Valuations, variations and payment applications
• Monitoring project costs and expenditure
• Supporting senior surveyors with client reporting and meetings
• Working alongside Project Managers and other disciplines to deliver successful projects
• Developing your technical knowledge and taking on greater responsibility as your experience grows
